Tender, juicy Italian meatballs simmered in a rich tomato sauce. Perfect for serving over spaghetti or as a hearty appetizer.

  • • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • • 2 large eggs
  • • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • • 1 tsp salt
  • • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • • 2 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • • Olive oil for frying

In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit 5 minutes to soak.
Add ground beef, ground pork, eggs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture. Mix gently until just combined.
Form mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs (about 18-20).
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs in batches, turning to brown all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
Transfer browned meatballs to a plate. Pour off excess oil from skillet.
Add marinara sauce to skillet and bring to a simmer. Return meatballs to sauce, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
Serve hot over spaghetti, with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
